OFB Start Center + ofb-setup.exe

The version number of the OFB will be used for the Start Center. In case of new versions of the Service Programs within the "ofb-setup.exe", small letters will be added to the version number of the setup-file and the modified version of the affected programs will be listed.

6.4.1 - 16.12.2011: New:
- For Privacy Protection a new option "Privacy Protection Individual" established. In opposite to the Standard Privacy Protection, where all persons are treated in the same way, here the persons will be processed according individual marks within the ged-file, e.g. if the standard process has been obsoleted by an individual special agreement (in writing). 4 different codes (of sharpness) can be processed by the OFB. These are:
"1" = No restriction – release of all data
"2" = Reduced publication (1st character of the Given Name, the full Surname, the gender an the years value of * ~ + =)
"3" = Anonymous publication ("Anonymous" for Name, the gender and, if applicable, the death sign)
"4" = Suppression of person (will be deleted from the data base of the OFB).
The "Privacy Protection Individual" is only available, if the Standard Privacy Protection is activated and has priority. For processing by the OFB these codes have to be stored by the ged-file for the concerned persons. As a standard data field no genealogy program is providing this. However, most of the programs provide the capability to create "user defined" fields. These allow the input of such codes. Alternatively an existing field not in use may be mis-used.
In addition to the INDI record nbr. the names of the person will be added to the log file.
The BAPM tag now can be used as the CHR tag for christening. This has to be defined by the Gedcom profile.
Modified:
- For Privacy Protection the affected persons regarding "suppress person" will be eliminated from the data base. So far the names still showed up at "relations". This option now is useable for all OFB types (so far only for type 1 + 3).
The whole ged-file will now only be read once (so far up to 5x) and stored in memory.
If for media the option "only 1. photo" is marked and a picture in the ged-file is marked by the tag "x _PRIM Y", this picture will be used instead of the 1st one.

6.4.0 - 04.09.2011: New:
- As additional data field "Rufname" is available. "Rufname" is in older official German documents in case of multiple first names the underlined part of the first names, not to be mixed up by nickname.
As option in tab "Option - Setup" the presentation of "Rufname" can be defined within the first names underlined, italic or bold printed or as separate data field followed the genealogy sign in the OFB.
At the main screen at "General Definitions" a new function/option "Optimize for Word" implemented. For this option only the cum. list and the index lists will be created. Their output will be optimized for further processing in Word. (Open Office and Libre Office don't work correct). By the button "Word Options" a screen with 3 tabs opens for defining the necessary options. For details see the User Guide.
At the tab "Index Lists" a new "Phonetic Sorting" for the index list of last names can be selected. This sorting sorts the last names according their sound and not according the alphabet. Beside 2 standard methodes (for German last names) an user interface has been created to allow a "user defined" phonetic rules definition. For details see the User Guide.
At the main screen an ofd-file may be loaded by using the 10 recent used ofd-files as an additional option.
Now Media can also be processed by OFB type 2 + 3. They will be printed at the end of each group.
Modified:
- For multiple available data for the events * ~ + = it can be defined by the "Gedcom Profile Management" if the 1st, last or all occurences should be used. So far only the last was used.
At the main screen the button "Data fileds + Options" renamed to "Output Options".
For type 9 the horizontal rule at the end of each group eliminated. The horizontal rules above and below of the family data can be eliminated by the option "compact" at the tab "Options - Setup".
If "no date known ..." at tab "Privacy protection" is selected, the OFB will search if for affected persons their children already are without the privacy protection state. If this is true, the privacy protection state for the parents will also be removed. In addition a simple list of all persons of the ged-file with privacy protection can be created.
At tab "Settings" the options "rewrite css-files" and "no Backup for css-files" deleted.
6.3.0 - 01.07.2011: New:
- Options Index lists: For "separate multiple Given names" only the blank was used as separation character. Now additional characters for separation may be specified.
Options Index lists: In addition to "separate multiple Given names" multiple Surnames may be separated. At adequate set options as example, the names "de Azevedo Stiehler", "Mayer-Vorfelder", "Braun *Eder" can be found in the index list for surnames at both name parts.
The Tag "_ASSO" will be processed like "ASSO".
At "Output" in the "Main screen" an option to separate the single files into different subdirectories established. The high number of single files can be evenly distributed to 5..50 subdirectories, to reduce the number of files in the output folder in case of a high number of persons.
At "Settings" an option for warning about potential large files/folders added. The default value is 5000 selected persons and can be modified.
2 new Data elements "Status died" for person data and "Address" for family data implemented.
For status "died" a check will be done for available data in DATE, PLAC or SOUR or the Gedcom file contains for death the data "1 DEAT Y, if date and place are unknown. To consider these cases during "Person selection", they can be found using the data field "Death place", the comparison "=" and the search text "Y".
For "Address" within family data the structures "1 ADDR" with the sub-tags.
Tag "RESI" integrated into Standard group Family according Standard 5.5.1. Required adaptations to the control files will be done by the OFB.

Optional the sorting of the OFB reports according the date may be deselected. This will use the sequence of the data in the ged-file. For OFB type 1 + 3 partnership and children and for OFB type 2 + 9 only the children will be affected.
For OFB type 1 at relations the output of godfathers + witnesses at birth, christening, death and burial may be limited to 1 place, namely always at all children. Only in case a person/partner is not included as child the relations will be listed at the person/partner. With this double listings at person/partner and child may be avoided.

So far, beside others, code values as attributes of a TYPE tag could be translated to plain text for output. This is now also possible for other tags, e.g. PEDI or also user defined tags like _MREL.

So far the relations have been listed at both, the event and the witness resp. godfather. Optional the output may be limited to the event only.
For OFB type 2 "Family Report" the output of godfathers/witnesses for the children may be optional activated/deactivated.
6.2.4 - 01.06.2010: Program code optimizing at reading the ged-file, some flaws at the output corrected and few changes at the language files implemented.
6.2.3 - 01.04.2010: Due to the new setup of the ged-file exported by FTM2010 (at the beginning of the family records all families with only one parent are located) the logic for reading the FAM data had to be modified.

6.2.0 - 10.01.2010: The tag FACT, introduced by Gedcom Standard 5.5.1 and already used by several programs, added.
For birth, christening, death, burial, marriage and divorce ADDR (addresses) structures may be processed optionally.
The date prefix INT for "interpreted" according Gedcom Standard 5.5.1 added. For date text phrases allowed, e.g. White Sunday 1850. All text phrases will be sorted as date "0". Preparation of date values improved: In case of error the log-file will contain beside the original value the information the values used for sorting (=> Sort:) and output (-> Out:). Accordingly the corrections in the genealogy program can be realized.
Photos and other media of the partner can be included for type 6 "Descendants". New option at "General Definitions" to capitalize the surname. HTML formatting error corrected for OFB type 9.

To protect your data and PC setup following output folders are no longer accepted: folders starting with "C:\Programme\" or "C:\Program Files\", the media folder and the desktop.
The button "Create Output" is always enabled. Immediately after pushing the button checks will be done for red colored (faulty) areas in the main screen. In this case the output will be canceled.

For naming of "DB-Id" und "RefId-nbr", similar to the enclosing parentheses, some of the left characters of the data text can be eliminated, e.g. the leading "I" of the DB-Ids.

(NOTE, SOUR, REFN with TYPE) in media data and the adoption structure (ADOP tags) according the Gedcom Standard enhanced - in addition the misuse of the PLAC tag for the info "adopted by ..." , e.g. by FTM or Brothers Keeper, supported.
For this the ADOP tag was moved from the "INDI event" structure to a separate data field.
Naming screen adjusted to fit OBJE tags for media.
Additional options added to the tab "Media" for integration of media to the source data, for output of photos just as link, and for selection of 3 different output areas of the media.
At the info "Relations of" beside the date also the place can be added (for birth, christening, death, burial, marriage + divorce the resp. dates and/or places will be inserted at the relations, e.g. at godfather the date/place of christening).
For sorting of the output, beside the German umlaut, all other western, middle and south Europe special alphabet characters (ISO-8859-1/2/3) will be converted and sorted to the standard alphabet.
A special option at "Settings" suppresses the output of all the single html-files (intended for use in special cases, e.g. preparation of lists for printing - the output of just the cum. file and the index lists is much faster than the additional creation of the single files).
A new button at the main screen at "Output folder" allows the deletion of all files of the output folder.
If an attribute of a PLAC tag contains multiple commas or "comma space" sequences, those will be eliminated.
A 1st step to convert to UTF-8 character set took place by this version. The language files are UTF-8 coded and may only be watched and modified by an editor capable to handle UTF-8 code (e.g. "Notepad++"). ged-files using CHARSET UTF8 in their header will be processed as UTF-8 and the html-files will be in UTF-8. error log-files will be in UTF-8. all other files are still in ANSI code.
Recovery functions for errors in the ged-file enhanced and small bug fixes.
5.3.0 - 20.09.2008: Following ged-file data are added: "Repository" of Sources (REPO tags and REPO records), FAX, EMAIL and WWW data as part of the address structure, some more detail enhancements for processing.
Index lists for Note and Repositories added (are only available if the ged-file provides the data as NOTE- resp. REPO record instead of text phrases).
Naming screen enhanced by the data groups "REPO Tags" for repository and "Code Values" to allow a translation of the most likely coded values of the TYPE tags to plain text.
For relations a multiple output of the titles, e.g. "Godfather of" or "Witness of", will be reduced to the 1st one.

- 1 new tab "Privacy Protection Individ" (see above OFB) implemented to define, how the code value is stored in the ged-file.
The BAPM tag now can be used as the CHR tag for christening. This can be selected at the tab "Further Options".

- 2 new tabs for the definitionen of "Rufname" and "Further Options" inserted.
Tab "Rufname" defines, how the "Rufname" (in older official German documents in case of multiple first names the underlined part of the first names, not to be mixed up by nickname) is presented in the Gedcom file.
Tab "Further Options" contains these options moved from the main screen. In addition you can define here if multiple available data for the events * ~ + = of the Gedcom should be processed and if the 1st, last or all occurences should be used. So far only the last was used.
